How does a private
Christmas market tour work?
On a private Christmas market tour your chauffeur collects you from your hotel, apartment or the airport and drives you to the Advent markets of your choice over four or eight hours. At every stop the car waits until you return. You set the pace, the breaks and the order; the price is per vehicle, not per person.
The Christkindlmarkt on Domplatz and Residenzplatz is open from 19 November 2026 to 1 January 2027 and is the heart of every tour. From there we connect further Advent markets in and around Salzburg, the Silent Night Chapel in Oberndorf and – on the full-day tour – the Salzkammergut at Lake Wolfgang, with an optional extension to Hallstatt.
The loveliest time to start is late afternoon. In late November and December it gets dark early, the markets light up, and the 4-hour tour spans dusk to dinner. On Advent weekends the old town and its approach roads are at their busiest, so your chauffeur drops you close to the market and picks you up at a meeting point agreed in advance instead of circling in traffic.
Couples travel comfortably in a Mercedes saloon or BMW 7 Series; families and groups of friends of up to 7 ride together in the Mercedes V-Class. For larger groups – a company Christmas outing, for example – we run several vehicles in parallel and time departures so everyone reaches the market together.
